Video of the Day: MGMT, “Time to Pretend”
The Dave Fridmann-produced Oracular Spectacular was in my Top 10 for 2008, and the album definitely has legs a year later. MGMT will play Bonnaroo this year, and hopefully there will be new material in the near term. The video has that cheapo chroma key quality of early ’80s Todd Rundgren videos, which is just fine.

Which answer do you want? Actually, it’s a serious trend, and with music video presence all but dead on television, directors are going with more lysergic, magic mushroom concepts to keep you entranced during the long, dull day at work.
Props for the edit-free version. I would glee my genes if MGMT would play NYE with the Flaming Lips. (No offense, stardeath.) Not open for them, but a 3-hour joint joint like the team-up like they did with the Beck. I can dream, can’t I?
