Stuff White Publishers Like
In case you haven’t been to a bookstore in recent weeks (and, really, who has time for books these days?), you might not know that yet another lucky bastard has catapulted from blog to respectability.
The latest recipient of the fickle finger of fate — joining such notable ex-bloggers as Diablo Cody and Ana Marie Cox – is Tortono native Christian Lander, whose very funny blog, Stuff White People Like, has made the leap to Random House paperback. The book deal reportedly fetched $300,000 for Lander, an Internet copy writer.
Note to HarperCollins: I happen to know of a blogger more than willing to accept 50K for the rights to publish his lists of favorite adjectives, baseball cards and pin-up models.
Let the bidding war begin.
