And what he said about you being on your game with the live-blogging. As someone who is about as interested in “American Idol” as he is in playing “Dueling Banjos” out his anus, I was nevertheless thoroughly impressed/amused by your level of snark. Attaboy, Georgie!

You were in rare form tonight, George. Alas, I had planned to go the distance along with you, but found some yard work to do instead. I did catch the last half hour or so, and had two thoughts:

1) David Cook seems like a genuinely nice guy and I hope he has a fulfilling career.

2) Carrie Underwood is hot in every sense of the word. She blew every contestant and guest star off the stage. She’s the real deal, and her producers really know how to make the most of her voice.
