the only good part was kid rock giving tommy lee a closed palmed slap across the cheek. kudos! we watch this show in hopes of seeing live train wrecks, admit it. that being said, i was disappointed that there weren’t more. boo.

i didn’t see the program, but i can safely say that surely there wasn’t a song played that warranted more than 30 seconds worth. did you people actually sit through this thing? i’m whimpering for a balm of real music.

Also, whose bright idea was it to make the whole show like previewing song clips on iTunes? Although i can appreciate the fact that MTV is obviously catering to their audience in this way (their audience, in this case, meaning those kids who watch MTV and don’t want to ever hear a song for more than 30 seconds), they’re just doing their part once again to do further damage to artistic integrity in music.

I mean really, c’mon. It’s like saying you’re going to show a movie and you only end up showing the first five minutes, important plot events from the middle, and then the last five minutes. Or perhaps it would be better to compare it to someone saying: “Here’s Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night!’” and then only showing the bottom quarter of the painting. I don’t think anyone played a full song the entire night. Bleh.
