Today is such a wonderful and historic day. It started off with me voting, voting for a change. After I cast my vote, I never felt more proud of what this country was coming to.
I knew today was going to be a good day. After attending my first watch party tonight, where I enjoyed every moment, I could tell from all the people that were there that we can come together to support a change. I am so thankful my family and I have witnessed a historic day. I never thought I’d see the day that an African-American would be president. It just proves that America can change and is ready for a change. This victory represents not just blacks but all groups of people. No matter what your race or lifestyle might be, we can change as a people and as Americans. What we’ve lived today is history!

I was just speaking to my friend on the phone about last night and what he saw.He was stead fast on telling me that, we have gone down the tubes, that instead of taking a step forward, when have fallen, never to get up again. He went on to tell me that, Obama is everything that we dont need, that his wife should leave if shes not happy here , you know so on and so forth. Listen folks, im a young black american. Not african american.(A Black American) Born in El Reno OK USA. I would give my life for this country If it needed my help and or if i was called. I dont believe in taking had outs, not do i believe in the republican party. But i do believe that Obama will help, some think that he can do it all him self. Thats not going to be the case. We are losing thousands of jobs homes and money here in the us. Personaly i think its because of greed. Wanting more and giving less to the workers. IM a truck driver, and i got the chance to go to Detriot. I was happy. I wanted to see MOTOWN. But when i got there i was humbled, i was heart broken to see the ruins of what once was a thriving us center piece. Even in my own home state of Oklahoma city. We have sections of our city that are gone. Places that americans sunk there money into and they didnt make it. We worry so much about trying to pull our selves up and forget about or brothers and sisters. The united states has changed even to me in my short 28 years here on earth. Its not what Obama can do for you. Its what are you gonna do for your self. What changes are you going to make. Ive not been proud as of late either to call my self an american, Ive felt as if i am doing something wrong and are not helping. We are in a very hard time right now, but make no mistake. It can be much worse. This is just a hit on the chin compaired to what can happen if we dont fix and fix it now. I cant stress enough, I dont look for anybody to give me anything. I just want the chance and the oppertunity to go get it. I dont want that chance either because im black or im a man. I want that chance becasue im the right person for that job. Alot of Mc Cain people are hanging there heads and on the outside i can see why, but on the inside i dont. I voted for Obama because i could related to him, because more than likely if we where ever to meet. We would have more to speak on than say my self and John Mc Cain. I do feel now that the united states is a free nation.
It is equal and a great nation. But we have alot to do to get back to a secure and a more comfortable stutus here in the united states. I dont look at this thing as being easy or painless. But as long as i know its for a greater good. I dont mind
