Final closeout sale at Junior League Remarkable Shop set for Nov. 2-4

Elizabeth Taylor Semtner, Junior League of Oklahoma City Public Relations Chairman, sent out this press release:

The Remarkable Shop, located at 3208 N. May, will hold “Tail of a Whale”, a final closeout sale of all merchandise, Nov. 2-4 with all proceeds going to support the Junior League of Oklahoma City’s (JLOC) multiple community projects, which advance the organization’s current focus area of “changing lives through literacy.”

The sale will include a wide range of clothing items for women, men and children; designer to thrift, vintage to new. Clothing prices range from $0.25 to $5, with most items in the $2 range.

Also included in the sale are accessories, household items and holiday decorations.

“We look forward to opening the doors one last time and offering quality clothing to the community at low prices, said Ashley Jackson, JLOC fundraising vice president. “We will be restocking throughout the weekend, so we are encouraging shoppers to stop by more than once, you never know what hidden treasure you might find.”

Any unsold items will be donated to our community partners and other local nonprofit organizations.

Since opening in November 1930, The Remarkable Shop has generated more than $4 million dollars, which the JLOC invested directly back into the community through trained volunteers and partnerships with dozens and dozens of community organizations.

“We want to thank the community and our membership for their steadfast support of The Remarkable Shop through its 82 amazing years. We welcome their support as we begin writing a new, exciting chapter for the Junior League,” Cristi Reiger, JLOC president said.

“Tail of a Whale” sale hours are Nov. 2, 9a-6p; Nov. 3, 9a-6p; Nov. 4, 12-5p.

Tax is included in the prices. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted. Parking is free.

The Junior League of Oklahoma City, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The JLOC currently has active projects with 26 nonprofit agencies with a focus of changing lives through literacy.
