Meet the writers
Mark Green
Mark Green is The Oklahoman’s national editorial writer, based in the newspaper’s Washington, D.C., bureau and has held the position since 1995. Green graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and earned a master’s degree from American University in Washington. In addition to The Oklahoman, Green has worked for The Times-Herald (Newport News, Va.), the Tulsa Tribune and The Washington Times. Green and his wife, Pamela, live in Occoquan, Va., outside the nation’s capital. They have two grown children.
Christy Watson
Christy Watson joined The Oklahoman’s opinion page in 2003 after spending several years as the newspaper’s education reporter. Christy is a 1996 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University. She and her husband, Tim, married that same year. They have two young children.
Owen Canfield
Owen Canfield joined The Oklahoman in 2003 after 19 years with The Associated Press, based in Oklahoma City. Owen grew up in Connecticut, one of 10 children born to a newspaperman dad and homemaker mom. He has lived in Oklahoma since 1977 when he arrived to attend the University of Oklahoma.
J.E McReynolds
J.E. McReynolds, chief editorial writer at The Oklahoman, is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He joined the newspaper in 1985 and has worked for the Opinion Page since 1995. In addition to writing editorials, he edits letters to the editor.
