To a roar of surprise and excitement that woke up a sleepy RNC, Laura Bush and Cindy McCain popped in near the RNC’s Monday conclusion with brief remarks regarding Hurricane Gustav and an introduction of the Republican Gulf Coast Governors.

There was certainly a “passing of the torch” vibe to the moment.
