Oklahomans compete in tonight’s “American Bible Challenge” finale

The Wagner Warriors, three brothers from from Tulsa and Owasso, are competing tonight in the Season 2 final competition of “The American Bible Challenge.”

The trio, Joshua, Daniel and Jesse Wagner, will face off against the Sisters of Mary and the Girls of Grace.

The brothers and their friends and family are planning to watch the finale together at the Oral Roberts University student center. Jesse and Joshua are students at ORU.

They are competing for a grand prize of $100,000, which would bring their total winnings on the Game Show Network show to $140,000. The prize money will benefit their family ministry Wagner Ministries International.

Gospel recording artists Mary Mary will perform a song during tonight’s show. It is set to air at 8 p.m.

Details emerge about memorial service for Oklahoma tornado victims

A memorial and prayer service to honor Oklahoma tornado victims will be an evening event, a spokesman for Gov. Mary Fallin’s office said Thursday.

Alex Weintz said the service is set for 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Moore, 301 NE 27 in Moore. He said parking for the service will be at Plaza Mayor at The Crossroads, formerly known as Crossroads Mall, at 7000 Crossroads Blvd. He said shuttle service will be provided to the church. Weintz said the parking arrangements have been made because a large crowd is expected and parking will be limited at the church.

A tornado cut a deadly swath through Moore, destroying numerous homes and two elementary schools. Twenty-four people perished in the storm.

More prayer services planned tonight

Several more metro churches have shared their plans to host special prayer services tonight.

Here’s the pertinent information:

“Service of Prayer and Remembrance,” 7 p.m. tonight, First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, 131 NW 4. An offering will be taken up to aid tornado relief efforts.

Wednesday Night Prayers, 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. tonight, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 325 First Street, Edmond.

Several metro area churches hosting prayer services tonight

Several Oklahoma City area churches are hosting prayer services tonight in effort to provide prayers and solace to people affected by the storms that have ravaged the state in the last few days.

Journey Church in Norman will hold a prayer vigil for tornado victims at 7 p.m. tonight at the church, 3801 Journey Parkway.

The Rev. Clark Mitchell, the church’s senior pastor, said the event will be a time “to come together as a community and encourage one another in faith that God can do anything.”

The church is serving as a hub for local relief efforts, with the house of worship serving as a shelter and meal site for tornado victims.

Church representatives said donations and volunteers are still needed. An updated list of immediate needs and volunteer opportunities is available at www.journeychurch.tv/relief.

Also, Messiah Lutheran Church will hold a special prayer service at 7 p.m. tonight at the church, 3600 Northwest Expressway.

The Rev. Mark Muenchow said the service is an opportunity for the community to “lift up in our prayers all those who have been impacted by the devastating storms in our state over the past few days.”

And Crossings Community Church, 14600 N Portland, will hold a prayer service from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight in the church’s Venue area.

Memorial/Prayer service tonight in Norman

NORMAN– Two Norman churches — New Life Bible Church and Norman Community Church — have joined together to host a community-wide memorial and prayer service at 7 p.m. tonight at New Life, 4343 N Flood.

Organizers said the service is being held in the wake of the deadly storms that have left destruction across Oklahoma.

The service is an effort to lift up neighbors and the entire state during this time of tragedy,” they said.
