Pope to faithful: Keep it real online

It’s OK to connect through social media.

Just be sure you keep it real.

In essence, that’s what Pope Benedict XVI (pictured) said in his World Day of Communications message on Monday.

“In the search for sharing, for ‘friends,’ there is the challenge to be authentic and faithful and not give in to the illusion of constructing an artifical public profile for oneself,” the pontiff said.

The pope’s message was released in advance of the 45th World Communications Day in June.
