@Tom Degan The opposition to the “cultural center” is not some vast right wing conspiracy. 71% of US polled are against it.

This mainstream opposition is growing because the publicity of the uproar has shined a light upon the Feisal Rauf and his support of establishing sharia in the United States of America.

Tom, if you want a taste of real fascism, spend a year in Taliban territory to get a taste of sharia.

It has always been easy to laugh at these people. Let’s face it; the extreme right wing is a satirist’s dream. But in the last year-and-a-half their message has gotten too strange to take with a mere grain of salt. Now they’re encouraging the citizenry to hate a certain minority based solely on their religion. Tell me, just what the hell does that remind you of?

And that message is resonating, too. On Tuesday evening some genius by the name of Michael Enright hailed a cab on East 24th Street. After a few minutes of amiable conversation he asked the driver if he was a Muslim. When the man answered in the affirmative, Enright produced a knife and proceeded to slash him about the face and shoulders. The victim, who is doing fine by the way, told the press, “This is the first time I felt like I didn’t belong in America.” The hysteria is palpable.

It’s NOT being built on Ground Zero, it’s being built nearby.

However inappropriate it may be, the constitution allows for freedom of religion so leave them alone.

A MOSQUE? REALLY? I know the President’s thinking that not all mueslums had to do with 9/11, BUT come on!!!!!

I hope on 9/11, President Obama looks at actual pictures of what happened on that day and then tell me a mosque has any place being build at that site. Americans are going to look like total fools.

I am beside myself that the American people do not have a say in this. This is horrific!!!!!
