A minister’s perspective of Comic-Con

Christianity Today’s online component featured an interesting article by Tony Kim (pictured), a Irvine, Calif. pastor who is a regular attendee of  Comic-Con.

Kim, pastor of Newchurch, has some interesting comments to share about the pop culture convention that draws thousands each year.

Here’s what he had to say: “A Comic-Con Recap from a ‘Pastor of the Nerds’.

The Chelsea Clinton wedding: The religion factor

News of Chelsea Clinton’s upcoming nuptials in upstate New York is everywhere.

Here’s something to think about: Clinton, daughter of  U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, is a Christian, while her fiance Marc Mezvinsky is Jewish.

The Washington Post’s religion blog On Faith recently included postings on the issue of interfaith marriage. The blog’s diverse group of panelists answered the question “Should religions intermarry?”

To get the app for iPhone, go to the app store on your phone and type in my316 and hit the search button. It will take yo to the My316 app.

Columnist discusses “Twilight” positives, negatives

The Rev. Chris Gore is a featured guest columnist for the most recent edition of the Baptist Messenger.

The Messenger is the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma’s official newspaper. Gore, pastor of First Baptist Church of Beggs, discusses the cult phenomenon “Twilight” in his column.  Apparently, some parents have been asking him how they should respond to the popular series of vampire books (and now movies) which may have captured their children’s interest.

Read his column to get his take on the series: “Twilight: Christian parents better teachers.”
