Last week, I received MovieGuide’s movie briefing about “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
I noticed that MovieGuide, an online guide to family friendly films, had said “Transformers” was not family friendly, but didn’t get a chance to post its information released June 29.
I saw the movie over the weekend and I have to agree with MovieGuide.
I liked the first “Transformers” film, but thought this one was over the top in terms of sexual references and cursing. I kept thinking of all the little kids who like the Transformers toys by Hasbro and how they were going to be treated to a lot of gratuitous cursing and very lewd comments when they went to see this film.
Here’s what MovieGuide had to say about the movie:
——
The new “Transformers” sequel, “Revenge of the Fallen,” which has just been released, is full of sexual

references and foul language that are inappropriate for children or young teenagers, according to Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®.
“We are appalled at all the crude humor and sexual innuendoes in this movie, which is supposed to be based on Hasbro’s popular toy franchise for children,” Baehr said.
He advised parents and families not to allow their children or teenagers, especially younger teenagers, to see this movie.
“This content is not even appropriate for media-wise adults, much less younger people,” Baehr added. “I don’t know what Hasbro is thinking, allowing Hollywood to degrade their toy line with such gratuitous lewd vulgarity. The ‘Transformers’ movies should be fun movies for the whole family. Unfortunately, this film isn’t family-friendly.”
