I do not celebrate Lent. However the church I attend does going through a period of fasting at the beginning of every year. It usually last for three months. The people prayerfully decide what they will give up. I know one gal that gave up watching TV. That has lasted for several years. Another friend of mine who already gave up TV felt like for a period of time he needed to completely shut down his computer. He disconnected it and put it in a closet.

I run a FB group that is growing right now because of a successful event a little over a week ago. In order to get more people into the group I must be on Facebook a bit the next couple of weeks. I know when to shut off the computer. It would have been a problem when I was younger. I think when you get older you realize what is really important to you. Being chained to a computer is NOT my life.
