U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, on Friday thanked Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., for scheduling a committee hearing on the scandal over the $823,000 training conference held by a government agency in 2010.
Boxer, the chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, set the hearing for April 18. She has called on the acting director of the General Services Administration to testify and the agency’s inspector general, who investigated the lavish Las Vegas conference that has already cost three top officials their jobs.…

Inhofe Says Federal Agency’s Las Vegas Conference was Disgraceful

Sen. Jim Inhofe on Wednesday called it “absolutely disgraceful” that a federal agency put on a lavish training conference in 2010 at a Las Vegas resort. Inhofe, R-Tulsa, wants the Democratic-controlled Senate to hold a hearing on an inspector general’s report about the General Services Administration conference, which cost more than $823,000. The Republican House has already scheduled hearings to investigate it.

Oklahoma Congressional Delegation Promotes Direct Flight from OKC to DC

All seven members of Oklahoma’s congressional district sent a letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood promoting Southwest Airlines proposal for a direct flight from Oklahoma City to Washington, DC. The lawmakers cite several reasons, including the large federal presence in Oklahoma City that requires travel to and from the nation’s capital. Of course, there is also the fact that members of Congress must fly frequently between Oklahoma City and Washington.

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, who has been pushing for several years for the capture of Lords Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony, is featured in the new video Kony 2012, made by Jason Russell of the group Invisible Children. The video about the Ugandan leader who has kidnapped children and forced them to fight in his army, has gone viral in the last few days, drawing millions of viewers around the world.

Oklahoma Sens. Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn Have Written Books

Sen. Jim Inhofe’s book, The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, was released this week, published by WND Books. It chronicles Inhofe’s crusade against scientists, politicians and others who have proposed tighter limits on greenhouse gas emissions to slow global warming.

10th Circuit Nominee Robert E. Bacharach Gets Highest Rating from Bar Association

Magistrate Judge Robert E. Bacharach, who has been nominated for a vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, has been given the highest rating from the American Bar Association: unanimously well-qualified.
Bacharach, who has been a federal magistrate judge in the Western District of Oklahoma, based in Oklahoma City, since 1999, was nominated by President Barack Obama on Jan. 23 for the appeals court. He would replace Robert Henry, who is now president of Oklahoma City University.…

Oklahomans in Congress Respond to American Airlines Proposed Cuts in Tulsa

Members of the Oklahoma congressional delegation today reacted Wednesday to the announcement that American Airlines would shed 2,850 jobs in Tulsa as part of its restructuring plan in bankruptcy court.
