Oklahoma Lawmakers Vote to Repeal Health Care Law
All five members of Oklahoma’s all-Republican delegation in the U.S. House voted Thursday to repeal the 2009 health care law. The 229-195 vote to repeal in the GOP-controlled House was symbolic. The Senate, controlled by Democrats, will not consider repeal.

Rep. Frank Lucas Targeted by Club for Growth for “Low” Lifetime Rating, Called Liberal
Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Cheyenne, has a lifetime rating from the free-market conservative group Club for Growth of nearly 70 percent. But it’s not 70 percent; it’s 68 percent. So Lucas, the chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and a strong advocate of farm and rural subsidies, is being targeted by the group in a new campaign called PrimaryMyCongressman.com.
According to the group, the purpose of the website is “to raise awareness of Republicans In Name Only (RINOs) who are currently serving in safe Republican seats.”

Oklahoma Congressional Offices Will Have Weekend Hours For Inauguration Tickets
Members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation are planning to have their Capitol Hill offices open at times this weekend so Oklahomans can pick up their tickets to President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony on Monday. Not all of the offices will be open on Monday.
The lawmakers are encouraging those who have already reserved tickets to pick them up on the weekend. All of the tickets allotted to the lawmakers have been reserved. Some offices have started waiting lists.

GOP Delegates Hear From Elected Officials, National Political Director
Oklahoma delegates to the Republican National Convention held their first communal breakfast Monday morning at their Tampa hotel and heard from three members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation and the political director for the national party.
Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, who had two Oklahoma radio interviews scheduled during the breakfast, elicited some live cheers from the assembled delegates for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa radio audiences.

Oklahoma Congressional Delegation Promotes Direct Flight from OKC to DC
All seven members of Oklahoma’s congressional district sent a letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood promoting Southwest Airlines proposal for a direct flight from Oklahoma City to Washington, DC. The lawmakers cite several reasons, including the large federal presence in Oklahoma City that requires travel to and from the nation’s capital. Of course, there is also the fact that members of Congress must fly frequently between Oklahoma City and Washington.
