Oklahoma Secession Petitions Removed from White House Web Site
The two petitions filed on the White House web site last month seeking Oklahoma’s peaceful withdrawal from the union have been removed for not garnering enough support in 30 days. The rules for the We the People petition site require that a petition get at least 25,000 signatures within 30 days. One of the petitions seeking Oklahoma’s withdrawal was started on Nov. 10 and the other was started on Nov. 11. At one time after the Nov. 6 election, there were petitions from all 50 states.…

Sen. Jim Inhofe Reiterates Opposition to Susan Rice
Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, reiterated his opposition to UN Ambassador Susan Rice as a possible replacement for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Rice met with some Republican senators on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to discuss the comments she made after the attack at the Libyan consul in Benghazi. Inhofe, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, was not part of the meeting. But he released a statement afterward:

Sen. Jim Inhofe Comments on Speculation About New Secretary of State
Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Tuesday that Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, would not be a “fitting replacement” for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is expected to leave the Obama administration.

Oklahomans Urge Action on Federal Judicial Nominees
Three prominent Oklahomans visited the White House and Capitol Hill on Monday to urge Senate confirmation of federal judicial nominees. The process of approving judges to the federal bench often slows in the months leading up to a presidential election as lawmakers from the party out of power sometimes stall action in hopes that they’ll win the White House and get a chance to replace the nominees with their own.
Former U.S. Attorney Dan Webber, former Seminole Nation Chief Enoch Kelly Haney and Jeremy Aliason, executive director of the National Native American Bar Association, went first to the White House to meet with Attorney General Eric Holder and White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler about the vacancy rate.…
