“We respect the Second Amendment” but want to change it. What part of “congress shall make no law” do they NOT get? If they deal with ANY government run health care program, they should know congressional involvement in this issue is silly. Let the states do it, if they dare, and keep the bloated federal government out of where they should never be.
Our founding fathers were very wise but not clairvoyant enough to anticipate a time when weapons of such mass destruction could find their way into the hands of deeply troubled, unstable people. Universal background checks are a very modest expectation related to public safety. I support these physicians in their efforts.
Criminals and nutbags don’t usually bother themselves to acquire their weapons legally. What makes this half dozen liberal doctors weapons experts, anyway?
