Oklahoma Doctors Ask Sen. Tom Coburn to Support Universal Background Checks

Six Oklahoma doctors, including two retired Air Force colonels, sent a letter to Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, asking him to support universal background checks for gun purchases. Coburn has recently been involved in bipartisan talks with other senators on the issue.

We do not need any more gun control laws. Just enforce the laws that we currently have and make the punishment swift and sure for those who break the laws!!

We do indeed need more gun laws. Ask law enforcement how many guns they can successfully track after purchase. If they are lucky enough to find the original owner the trail rapidly disappears as no laws regulate reselling. We require a title trail for cars and there is plenty of reason to do it for guns. As a retired law enforcement officer I strongly feel there is much more to be done.
