People have a right to protect their lives, property and loved ones. If we use good judgement on how to keep guns out of the hands of deranged, mentally, incompetant people without incapacitating and tying the hands of those individuals who use their weapons in a responsible and diligent manner for the good. In the current atmosphere of increasing dilemmas on the news and at schools where we want the safe well-being of every child to be of utmost priority there needs to be safety measures inacted. The people know the loopholes of buying weapons at these gun shows all over the Nation and not having to get a background check. However, the people who committed some of these horrific tragedies of late bought their weapons legally, or had them on hand by someone related to them. We know domestic abuse is on the rise and given a gun in that situation is very dangerous. Too many times law officer may step in on this kind of violence and women go get a restraining order which is like holding a piece of paper in front of a raging bull, it is not going to amount to a hill of beans. And sometimes people acquire guns from criminals who have already committed some kind of crime and want to get rid of the piece by giving it to someone else. How do you prevent that? I think Piers Morgan is being too condemning of our Country, who gave him a platform to talk about our laws when he is from England? We are not England and this is not a Parliament thats under a Queen. Yes, we need to come together Obama, the NRA, the Congress, the Senators to safeguard human beings from the taking of innocent lives by crazies with a firearm with multiple bullets.

To answer Peirs Morgan (CNN) and everyone else that don’t understand the 2nd Amendment, No where in the Constitution does it say “If you NEED a firearm, you can have one BUT not a “Semi-Automatic rifle that “Looks Military”.
The 2nd Amendment says “We the People” have the right to own any LEGAL firearm we “WANT” not need! PRETTY SIMPLE HUH.

Have you READ the US Constitution? Be honest! What does the 2nd Amendment say… exactly?

Where does the Constitution of the United States, or Oklahoma, restrict the weaponry of the citizen? What part of “shall NOT be infringed” do you, and other brainwashed individuals, not understand? Oh, you’re of the ilk that believe that “muskets” are only allowed, right? LOL… if that’s what you believe, you need to study the original writings of the Founding Fathers, the Patriots who fought to give YOU your freedom and then those (probably some from your very family) who died believing in YOUR RIGHT to freedom, liberty and those rights you evidently take from granted today!!

Do you know understand that WE THE PEOPLE have our 2nd Amendment right NOT for hunting (that has NOTHING to do with it) but for protecting ourselves and our God-given freedom, rights and liberties from a tyrannical, over-reaching and out of control government? Has it reached that point yet? No, not quite… but it’s getting very close!

NO PRESIDENT has the power, no matter what party or who he is, to CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION or ADD TO IT with a swipe of a pen! Get that through your head!! ANY, and I mean ANY attempt to amend the US Constitution is ILLEGAL and is an act of tyranny and treason without proper approval. Do you know what those proper procedures are Sir? I bet you don’t. This time… it’s up to YOU to find out. Let’s see if you even give a rat’s behind. Again… I bet you don’t!

If you don’t love this country, nor the rights guaranteed to you… LEAVE! And leave MY blessed and wonderful country alone!!!

President Obama is not pushing any “agenda” of his own. He is reacting after being bombarded by the public about out of control gun fanaticism. Anyone who thinks background checks are not necessary is not thinking rationally. I agree with a huge segment of the population that semi-automatic assault-type weapons should not be available for purchase by the general public. They are only for one thing: killing as many people as possible in a short period of time.
