CHARLOTTE _ Many of Oklahoma’s delegates and guests to the Democratic National Convention have arrived here for the Democratic National Convention, with more on the way. The convention starts Tuesday evening. First Lady Michelle Obama speaks that night.
On Sunday, some of the state’s top Democratic officials went to the Time Warner Cable Arena to work through some of the logistics. The first two nights of the convention are in the arena.
Christine Byrd, political director for the Oklahoma Democratic Party, David Scott, the IT Director, Dana Orwig, the vice-chairman of the state party, Trav Robertson, the executive director, and Betty McElderry, the state party’s national committeewoman, posed with U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, of Florida, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, on the arena stage.
On Thursday night, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will speak at Bank of America Stadium, where the NFL’s Carolina Panthers play.
