Three file for Corporation Commission
Three candidates have filed for two seats on the Corporation Commission so far Wednesday. Candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday to get their names on the ballot for the state-wide offices.
Patrice Douglass, the former Mayor of Edmond, has filed for office and doesn’t have a challenger yet. She was appointed to the seat after Commissioner Jeff Cloud resigned to take a job in the private sector.
Commissioner Bob Anthony, 60, filed for his seat and is being challenged by Brooks Mitchell, 50.
Mitchell is a public accountant who has owned his own practice for 15 years and worked as a commissioners aid under Jeff Cloud.
“Most of our state’s economy touches the Corporation Committee,” Mitchell said. “It’s a vital organization to our state and it’s critical that a commissioner be able to work with the legislature, other state agencies, the citizens of Oklahoma and the two other commissioners.”
