Oral Arguments Set in Appeals Court for 1st Lt. Michael Behenna’s Case

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces _ the military’s highest appeals court _ has set oral arguments for April 23 in the case of 1st Lt. Michael Behenna, who was convicted in 2009 of unpremeditated murder in a combat zone.
The arguments will be held at the court’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
Behenna, an Edmond native now serving a 15-year sentence at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, was convicted of killing an Iraqi man that Behenna suspected of terrorism. Behenna was questioning the man when he shot him and claimed self-defense at his trial.…

Oklahoma Congressional Delegation Promotes Direct Flight from OKC to DC

All seven members of Oklahoma’s congressional district sent a letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood promoting Southwest Airlines proposal for a direct flight from Oklahoma City to Washington, DC. The lawmakers cite several reasons, including the large federal presence in Oklahoma City that requires travel to and from the nation’s capital. Of course, there is also the fact that members of Congress must fly frequently between Oklahoma City and Washington.

Sen. Jim Inhofe Featured in Kony 2012 Video

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, who has been pushing for several years for the capture of Lords Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony, is featured in the new video Kony 2012, made by Jason Russell of the group Invisible Children. The video about the Ugandan leader who has kidnapped children and forced them to fight in his army, has gone viral in the last few days, drawing millions of viewers around the world.

Oklahoma’s Super Tuesday Results on State Election Board Web Site

The Oklahoma State Election Board has a much-improved format for election results and you can see the results from Tuesday here. It is easy now to find county numbers and the vote is broken out by congressional district as well, which is important for the presidential primaries because some delegates are allotted by those districts.
