Sen. Jim Inhofe’s book, The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, was released this week, published by WND Books. It chronicles Inhofe’s crusade against scientists, politicians and others who have proposed tighter limits on greenhouse gas emissions to slow global warming.
Inhofe, R-Tulsa, has called man-made global warming a hoax.
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, has written a second book, called The Debt Bomb, which is set to be released on April 17 and published by Thomas Nelson.…

Sen. Tom Coburn Unveils New Report on Duplication in Federal Government

U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, unveiled the second annual report by the Government Accountability Office on overlapping and duplicative programs in the federal government.
Among the highlights in the report, according to Coburn’s office:

_ Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education.

There are 209 federal STEM education programs, administered by 13 different federal agencies, costing taxpayers more than $3 billion annually.

_ Department of Justice Grants

Since 2005, Congress has spent $30 billion in overlapping Department of Justice grants for crime prevention police and victims services from more than 200 DOJ grant programs, and $3.9 billion in grants just in 2010.…

Rick Santorum Has Huge Lead in Oklahoma GOP Primary, Rasmussen Poll Shows

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum holds a two-to-one lead over former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gringrich in the Republican race as the Oklahoma presidential primary nears, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports.
According to the poll, Santorum has the support of 43 percent of likely Republican primary voters in Oklahoma, while Gingrich has support from 22 percent; former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has 18 percent; and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, of Texas, has 7 percent.

Lawmakers Want More Info on Lesser Prairie Chicken Listing

Led by Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, members of Congress from Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas are asking U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for more information about how the Lesser Prairie Chicken became the focus of possible federal protection.

President Barack Obama to Alter Birth Control Coverage Policy

President Barack Obama is scheduled to announce changes Friday to the controversial policy requiring faith-based institutions to provide health insurance coverage that includes contraception.

Oklahoma Gets Waiver From No Child Left Behind

Oklahoma is one of ten states that won’t have to comply with all of the requirements under the education law known as No Child Left Behind, a White House official confirmed Thursday morning. Oklahoma was among the first 11 states to apply for a waiver after the Obama administration announced last fall that it would relax some of the most controversial provisions.
