Inhofe, Lankford Comment on Behenna Appeal Action
Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, and Rep. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma City, released comments on the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces to hear 1st Lt. Michael Behenna’s appeal:
Inhofe said, “We must ensure the rights of our service men and women are protected which includes the right to appeal. I support the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces to ensure his trial was fair and included all the evidence.”
Lankford said, “The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces has the discretionary authority to review cases like 1LT Michael Behenna’s. I’m grateful they took this opportunity to provide 1LT Michael Behenna with the due process he deserves. We continue to provide encouragement to Michael and the entire Behenna family, who have prayed and worked so hard as they stand by their son through this process.”
