Sen. Tom Coburn Releases New Report on 2011 Waste
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, released a report on Tuesday documenting some of what he considers the worst government waste of 2011.
“Video games, robot dragons, Christmas trees, and magic museums _ This is not a Christmas wish list, these are just some of the ways the federal government spent your tax dollars,” Coburn said.
“Over the past 12 months, politicians argued, debated and lamented about how to reign in the federal government’s out of control spending. All the while, Washington was on a shopping binge, spending money we do not have on things we do not absolutely need. Instead of cutting wasteful spending, nearly $2.5 billion was added each day in 2011 to our national debt, which now exceeds $15 trillion.”
Here is a copy of the report. It takes a few seconds to load.

I receive an almost daily email from Senator Coburn’s office titled THE PORK REPORT where he details millions and often billion dollars in waste and abuse.
Everyone should read his Back in Black report showing how $9 Trillion could be saved in 9 years if congress would follow his plan.
Thank you for your efforts to stop govt waste. I can’t believe that congress js so careless when allocating tax money. i have only read 19 from 2011 waste and wonder what happened to common sense. the $35 million for political conventions should be stopped before they receive one cent. Those who voted for these foolish and wasteful expenditures should be out of congress…shame on them.
I just read it. The sad thing is that it only lists about 250 million dollars wasted…We all know that is a drop in the ocean of waste, given we are 1.7 TRILLION more in debt EVERY YEAR with Obama and the Dems in charge ( and still no budget!! 3 years after being elected! Just a blank check.(
If we simply followed the bouncing ball of the waste Sen Coburn has outlined to the agencies that are responsible, we could eliminate THEM and really start to help keep our kids free from the enslavement to this POTUS’s dreams of his father.
