Lankford Presents Medals to World War II Hero

Edmond native Dr. Hall Duncan only recently learned that he had earned eight medals for his service in World War II. He contacted U.S. Rep. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma City, for help getting his military records, and Lankford pinned the medals on Duncan on Friday.

“It is truly an honor to finally present these long-deserved medals to Dr. Hall Duncan,” Lankford said.

“For 67 years, Dr. Duncan did not have the full recognition for his service to our country. His service during World War II showed the courage and commitment of a man who put his country and his fellow soldiers ahead of his own well-being.…

OU President David Boren Notes Passing of Al Cromley

University of Oklahoma President David Boren issued a statement on Wednesday about the passing of Al Cromley, the long-time Washington bureau chief of The Oklahoman. Cromley, who was 89 when he died on Monday, covered Boren’s 15 years in the U.S. Senate.

Boren said, “Allan Cromley was an extremely gifted journalist who met the highest standards of personal and professional integrity in his reporting. His career demonstrates the important role played by Washington bureaus of leading regional newspapers.
