Senator Coburn knows exactly why no bills can be passed in the senate. It no longer takes a simple majority to pass a bill into law. With his Republicans filibustering every bill that is not sponsored by a member of his party it takes 60 votes to pass a bill. The party that boasts of following the wishes of the founders of our country are making it impossible for the senate to function the way it should. Majority leader Harry Reid should pull the “nuclear option” and do away with the filibuster entirely. Then-we would see some action in the senate. But…the fact is Harry Ried doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to say no to Coburn and his group of scallywags.
