Michael, You might check, but I was a delegate, and think in the end, there weren't 100 unexplained votes on the first ballot, but about 100 delegates who signed in late and weren't included in the initial delegate count —— stupid but not smacking of back-room deals. Also, on the second ballot, after the two Greens through support to Collins, they figured the first results wrong (ugh!) and came back with a second set of results: Downs, 2; Orwig, 157; Collins, 249; and Barnes, 143; with I think 3 abstentions. So that put Collins and Orwig in the run-off.

While this convention was by all accounts an unorganized mess of historic proportions, I'm confident new leadership will be able to make things right in two years.
