Sen. Tom Coburn Won’t Offer Ethanol Amendment

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, said in a speech on the Senate floor last night that he won’t offer his amendment to eliminate tax subsidies for ethanol to the small business bill currently pending in the Senate. Several senators were blocking the amendment and Coburn’s efforts to get a vote on it slowed down action on the small business bill. Coburn said he will force a vote on the amendment to eliminate the blender’s tax credit as soon as he can.
