Tom Cole Named to House GOP Transition Team

U.S. Rep. Tom Cole, R-Moore, was named today to the House Republican team that will work on the next majority’s rules and priorities.
The announcement was made by Rep. Greg Walden, the Oregon Republican who is heading up the transition. Republicans last week won more than 60 seats, enough to give them the majority when the new Congress begins in January.

Oklahoma political vet Randy Swanson to head James Lankford team

Randy Swanson, who has been involved in Oklahoma Republican politics for decades, will be chief of staff for James Lankford, the newly elected Republican in the congressional district that includes Oklahoma City.
Swanson worked on GOP campaigns before handling press duties in the mid-1990s for U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas.
He most recently worked for the Oklahoma State Senate as the director of communications for the Republican leader. He also worked for J.C. Watts when Watts was on the Oklahoma Corporation …

Sure, it’s two years away, but it’s never too early to set up political action committees if you’re considering a run for president. So far, three potential Republican candidates have started Oklahoma PACs that are tied to the national ones they’ve already established at the Federal Elections Commission.
