If the Republicans really wanted to stop the adjournment, they could have gotten two votes to show up. They would rather have congress adjourn but looking like they wanted to stay. This way, they get to go home and have another election issue.
I am a Republican, and perhaps this is good party strategy but it isn’t helping the economy with the tax issue remaining up in the air. No wonder all of Congress, Dems and Repub have such a low approval rating.

What is Fallin’s job running for Gov. or being a rep. of Okla.? If she can’t represent the people of our state now how can we depend on her if she gats elected? We have a current Gov, and the one before him who did what they wanted not what the people of the state wanted or needed we don’t need another one like that.

About Fallin: Fallin responded that she had a prior commitment to debate the incumbent democrat at a forum. I consider that to be an excused absence. Dont get me wrong, I eventually threw my support towards Fallin; but I was initially backing Randy Brogden.

If Boren had not showed up or had other committment I would not had held it against him. But fact of the matter, Boren did show up. Besides, Fallin is not in my district. Boren, however, is. So even Fallin did show up, that does not exempt Boren from reneging on his promise.

Also it was Boren who made a HUGE whoopty-doo splash announcement almost 2 weeks ago that he would vote for extending tax cuts. The opportunity was before him yesterday & he blew it. Surely you can see that.

1. It was Boren who pledged (almost 2 weeks ago) to extend tax cuts. So why would he prolong the vote on tax cuts when the bill was before him yesterday?

2. It was Boren who supposedly indicated that he didnt realize what he voted on until after the fact. This is reported in the news

3. I called Boren’s office and got a totally different story as to why he messed up; and I can assure you, it dont sound pretty at all.

4. and BTW, vote before them as to vote on adjournment or to vote to extend the tax cuts. Again, like I said before, Boren claims that he didnt realize it was in the bill until the voting was over. Meaning that Boren don’t read before he votes (which is problem that district 2 has scolded him about at the last big townhall meeting).

At least Boren showed up to vote. Where was Mary? Oh, neglecting her elected duties, that’s right.

Btw, this was not a vote to extend the tax cuts, Arlenearmy. It was a vote to whether or not to wait until after the Nov. election to take a vote on the tax cuts. Because Fallin neglected to vote, at all, we are not going to resolve the issue anytime soon.

actually dan boren lied to us. earlier he said that he’s for tax cut extension. but today he back stabbed us by voting to NOT vote on extending tax cuts. This puts Oklahomans in a lurch. We are already nervous about this economy. What he just did was voted to hike the taxes.

If Boren was serious about extending the tax cuts he would have voted NO on the adjournment. Instead, he gave Oklahomans the middle finger and voted to adjourn. I can’t understand why the people in his district keep electing this horrible excuse of a representative.

And that is why regardless of being a democrat, regardless of how you might like Dan Boren. You cannot vote for him and keep him in office. How will you feel if the day after the election Nancy Pelosi retains control because of ONE democrat… I’m not a Republican but I would vote for the Devil himself against Dan Boren just to insure that the country does not have to deal with Nancy Pelosi or more tax hikes.
