GAO to Coburn: Can’t Quantify DOJ Spending on Recreation
The Government Accountability Office sent a letter to Sen. Tom Coburn today saying that it could not figure out how much Justice Department grant money goes to recreational activities (such as sports programs to prevent juvenile delinquency). According to the GAO, Congress’ auditing arm, the Justice Department doesn’t require grant recipients to break down spending in that way.
