Governor still on the job hunt

Gov. Brad Henry remains uncertain what he will be doing when he leaves the Governor’s Mansion early next year when his second and last four-term expires.

“I have no idea,” the governor said Monday when asked about his job plans.

Henry, who is term limited and cannot run for re-election, and his wife, Kim, recently bought a home in northeast Oklahoma City near NE 122 and Bryant.

The governor said the first lady will continue to work as executive director of the Sarkeys Foundation in Norman.

“Hopefully I’ll find something around here that won’t cause any problems,” said Henry, a lawyer who served 10 years as a Democratic state senator from Shawnee before being elected the state’s chief executive in 2002.

Henry said there are no plans for the family to have just one wage-earner.

“I don’t think so, she doesn’t think so either,” the governor said.  “I suggested that – maybe I could just go into retirement. She doesn’t appreciate that one bit.”

Henry said this past legislative session was the toughest during his nearly eight years in office as he and legislative leaders tackled revenue shortfalls both in the current fiscal year and in the upcoming 2011 fiscal year. The national recession, which hit the state nearly a year ago, helped cause Oklahoma’s worst fiscal crisis since the Great Depression.

“I would love to have a year or two off, but I don’t think Kim would stand for that,” the governor said.

if he knows spanish he could flip burgers at mcdonalds

I guess we see who wears the pants in that family. LOL

Maybe he could go serve his time for the illegal campaign contributions that he received from Steve Phipps. Fair is Fair. If McMahan has to, they should all have to. Henry, Boren, and Edmondson.

hey brad passed a donut shop this morning with a help wanted sign in the window must be able to speak vietnamese.

Like I said before, he could always go serve his time with Jeff McMahan since he took illegal campaign contributions too. I think they should have all had to go if one did. That means Brad Henry, Dan Boren, Drew Edmondson, and many more. turn abouts fair play.

I guess if you put a negative comment they delete it. What happened to free speech? I guess you only get that if you are Steve Phipps. He still has them in his pocket. Oh, and dont forget Clifton Scott. He should have been in prison a long time ago. that is why McMahan is in prison. he is paying for Clifton Scott’s sins.

brad i heard the circus needs some clowns mr funnyman

He could hire on as one of Obama’s beggars for money. Henry has never hesitated to beg money from the feds.
