Independent seeks Green Party nod

A physician from Oklahoma City has filed as an independent in House District 85.

Edward Shadid, 41, has filed to run in the seat occupied by Rep. David Dank, R-Oklahoma City.  Shadid is running as an independent and seeking the endorsement of the Green Party.

Shadid said he was caught in his car during a recent tornado on Interstate 40 in May.  He said his near death experience made him look at his life and he decided to do he needed to do “what he felt was healthy for the planet and its inhabitants.”

Shadid said he is self financing his election.
