Coburn to attend Obama’s health care summit

Sen. Tom Coburn, a physician who has co-authored a Republican health care reform bill, does plan to attend President Barack Obama’s health care summit on Thursday, according to spokesman John Hart.
The Oklahoma senator will be among the bipartisan group of key congressional leaders and health care experts meeting in a televised session with the president to discuss options for tackling the numerous problems of health care financing.
Obama released his own plan on Monday that hews closely to the one approved by the Senate on Christmas Eve. No longer being discussed is the so-called public option, a government insurance program to compete with private insurers.
Whether the session is just theater or a productive discussion that leads to compromise remains to be seen.

The question is: “Is the president going to look at it, or is he going to dismiss it like he does to everyone elses bill.”

It would be nice if those fools in DC would listen to their constituents

Coburn is a mammoth embarrassment to Oklahoma… just as right wing neo-cons are a mammoth embarrassment to the country.

embarrassment to the country just like the Administration
