Inhofe Against Rescue Package
Looks like some Tulsa reporters caught Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, at the airport today as he prepared to leave for Washington and asked him how he was going to vote tonight.
Inhofe said he would oppose it unless it was changed “materially.”

Oklahoma Biz Leaders for Rescue Plan
A group of Oklahoma business leaders came out this morning for the financial rescue plan now before Capitol Hill lawmakers.
“We are proud of the success of our companies and institutions – we have been prime movers in Oklahoma’s economic resurgence during the past decade,” the statement from the business leaders says. “We trust Congress will rise to the occasion to act decisively to protect America’s economy and in doing so, will keep Oklahoma’s economy moving ahead on a positive path.…

Senate Voting Tonight
The Senate is now scheduled to vote tonight on the financial rescue plan. A copy of the bill can be found here.
It’s not clear yet how Sens. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, and Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, will vote. Coburn has been steadfastly urging that some action be taken, warning of the consequences if the financial markets aren’t stabilized. His latest statement on the crisis can be seen here.
Inhofe came out early against the original Bush administration plan but hasn’t given a definitive statement in the last few days.…
