Afro Donkey
Oklahoma state Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre, on the right, who seemingly hasn’t missed a t-shirt vendor hawking at the Democratic National Convention, poses here with her sister, Syliva Dean, with their donkey with an afro shirt (the donkey being the longtime symbol of the Democratic Party). And that is apparently what used to be called a pick in the Afro.

Hey I attend The Ohio State University and we had a presidential rally. John Legend performed and was wearing one of these shirts. I asked him where he got it and he said they were selling them in Arizona at the DNC so I believe you can only get them from street vendors. Just trying to be of any assistance that I can.
just out of curiosity, why is that t-shirt not racist?
if I made up a t-shirt with the donkey wearing something demonstrably “white” everybody would protest… I’d have Reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson camped out on my front porch boycotting me!
another stupid double-standard. it kinda reminds me of people voting for a particular candidate because he’s the same color as themselves… of wait! no way THAT really happened this election.
or maybe its reminiscent of when the mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin, gave that speech saying how after the recovery, New Orleans would remain a “chocolate city”.
can you imagine what would happen if Boise, Idaho got clobbered by a natural disaster and then the mayor of Boise got up in front of people and said that “Boise will stay a vanilla city”?
of course you can.
obviously, it only qualifies as actual racism when white people do it.
the shirt…THE SHIRT! I have been looking for this shirt for weeks! I saw it before, then misplaced the address.
Are any available anywhere near Texas?
I really, REALLY would like to have one to wear when I visit
George’s new neighborhood in Dallas.
Thnx,
L
During inauguration week here in DC, I saw dozens of vendors hawking all kinds of shirts (should have taken some pictures) but I never saw this one. Had I seen someone selling it, I probably would have bought a bunch to send to all the people who have posted comments about it!
