LG putting producing a 19-inch flexible e-paper display

LG putting 9.7-inch color, 19-inch flexible e-paper displays into production — Engadget.

Every time we see this stuff in the news industry we start to breath quickly and our hearts race.

I think this is very cool and of course I’d love to have one. But you have to ask if this is practical as a portable platform. It will be perfect on the CEO’s desk where it’s safe and protected. But it’s no good on a crowded train.

What happens if it gets a crease in it? I’ve been amazed how much abuse this can take. But it has it’s tolerances.

If these pictures are to be believed I’m impressed. I don’t see batteries, or wifi / 3g radios poking off the side or back.

As for cost, I would guess $499.

Had any deep thoughts lately?

I love tech. I love information and learning. I love networking with friends. But after reading this … at least for a few days … I’ll check my email a little less and focus on having quiet thoughtful moments a little more.

I can make free phone calls from Gmail

I downloaded and installed the voice plugin. I’ll let you know how it works. I hope this gets more people aware of how cool and useful google voice is.
