As I was editing my pictures from the Winstar Casino Invitational PBR tour stop, I kept thinking back to photos from the Perfect 10 Challenge gymnastics event that I covered the night before. Below are some of the similarities I noticed between gymnastics and bull riding.

Bryan Terry created an audio slideshow for a story by Jenni Carlson about Matt Allen, a Bishop McGuinness volunteer softball coach, and his fight with cancer. If you missed the story in The Oklahoman or the slideshow on NewsOK.com, both are worth checking out.

I learned more than I thought possible about blimps and zeppelins during an assignment earlier this week with Staff Writer Matt Dinger. We got a close look at the Farmers Airship as it visited Oklahoma City as part of history’s longest zeppelin tour. You can read Matt’s story by clicking here.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t seen some of the other photo galleries we’ve publish in the last week, follow some of these links. Bryan Terry turned in some nice pictures from the OU Sooners’ game against Florida State.
Those of us who cover sports at The Oklahoman love high school football. We have one major complaint about it, however; most games are played after the sun sets in very dark stadiums. But at the beginning of the season, when the days are longer and the time has yet to change, we get to shoot with natural light at the most beautiful time of day.

Here’s a batch of high school football photos shot while the light is still shining in the evening and one photo from this weekend’s annual Soul Bowl between Millwood and Douglass, which is played in the afternoon.

To see a gallery of Friday’s high school football games, click here. Why not check out the Soul Bowl gallery too while you’re at it?

Last week I traveled to Konawa, Oklahoma to photograph Stephen Cully for a story by Staff Writer Jason Kersey. Stephen, who plays fullback and linebacker for the Tigers, was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome. You can read Jason’s story about Stephen and his impact on the community by clicking here, or take a look at more of our nDepth pages.

Here are a couple of pictures from last night’s games and some links to photo galleries from the games we covered on Thursday night and on Friday night.
