Out-of-town guests for the wedding of Lauren Steakley and Tucker Brollier were entertained at a Mexican Fiesta in the home of Shari and Charles Buxton. Co-hosts were Gay and Ed Kirby, Anita and Phil Patterson, Billye and Jimmie Austin, Machen and Sam Daube, Kay and Bill Gustafson.

Outdoor tables were decorated with embroidered Mexican cloths.

Among the guests were Tessa and Travis Moss, Sarah and Bill Pruellage, Linda and Curt Roberts, Libby and Steve Steakley, Susan Sadler, Barbie and Bill Borlaug and Donna and Thad Brollier.

The couple was married Sept. 11^th at Christ the King Catholic Church. The reception was at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

The groom loves candy, so instead of a groom’s cake,  there was a table filled with all kinds of candy and monogrammed sacks were available for guests to take some home.

Rachael Ann Rudeen and Jeff Klos were married June 12 at The Cathedral of Saint Paul in St. Paul, Minn. A reception followed at the James J. Hill Reference Library.

Parents of the couple are Linda and Gary Rudeen, Cottage Grove, Minn. and Linda and Tom Klos, Oklahoma City.

The bride wore a satin strapless dress with a bow in the back and a sash at the waist and she carried a bouquet of white orchids.

Matron of honor was Katie Dake and bridesmaids were Caitlin Browning, Jean Chalifoux, Allison Eagan, Keri Fee and Jennifer Klos. They wore black silk shantung dresses and carried blue, green and yellow flowers.

Patrick Garrett was best man and the groomsmen included Chris Barkley, Matthew Eagan, Blair Naifeh, Corey Mood and Jason Rudeen. Ushers were Drew Cook and Michael Tarwater. They wore yellow silk bowties.

The reception was in the three story library where place cards for the guests were in the shape of library return cards. The cards also had the name of a classic love story book which was placed on each table so guest could find their seats.

Cupcakes set on tiers were the wedding cakes. Music was by Metro Jam.

The bride’s family serenaded the couple with a performance of “Oklahoma” and they wore cowboy hats for the song.

The groom’ parents hosted a dinner on the night before the wedding on the Paradise Charter River Cruise Boat. Nautical-themed decorations were on the boat and party favors were Swedish Fish candles personalized with the phrase “You’re a Reel Catch.”

Rachael and Jeff Klos who were married June 12 in St. Paul, Minn. were honored at a party at the Chesapeake Boathouse  on June 24. Linda and Tom Klos, Jeff’s parents, were hosts for the event on the Oklahoma River.

Music was by C+  and guests enjoyed boat rides on the Oklahoma River Cruise Boat.

Green cloths were on the tables with blue, white and green flowers, set in a nautical theme.

Carrie Lawler and Mark Floyd were married in Norman June 18th at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.

The reception was at the University of Oklahoma Memorial Union in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom where beautiful flowers decorated the tables and guests enjoyed dinner and dancing.

Katie Griffin and Luke Cunningham were married June 5th at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The reception was at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club where beautiful flowers decorated the tables, the chandeliers and the bar areas.

Katie’s dress was strapless silk organza accented with grosgrain ribbons. She carried a bouquet of white roses, orchids and peonies. The bridesmaids wore taupe colored silk shantung dresses and carried peach and white roses.

Mother of the bride, Kathy Griffin, wore a silk tweed dress with taupe, silver and copper strands and mother of the groom Madeleine Cunningham-Lerner wore a hot pink silk dress with ruffles.

Tables were set up in Harry’s Bar at the Country Club. The room was like a movie theater with lighted tables. The newly-weds favorites movies were shown on a big screen and “junk food,” including popcorn and chips and dips were served to the guests in this room. In the ballroom, dinner was served.

Jamie and Gil Gaddis were married May 22nd.

The May 22nd celebration reception following Jamie Davis and Gil Gaddis’ wedding was spectacular!

It was held in their beautiful new home! Their many, many friends were so happy for them! The food was excellent and artistically arranged! The flowers were beautiful!

Dr. Abbey Onan and Maj. Vincent Lappano were married Jan. 16th at Saint Monica Catholic Church in Edmond. Family and close friends attended. The bride wore a traditional wedding dress and a quartz necklace and her mother’s crystal pendant for the wedding and an eight- strand turquoise necklace for the reception.

The reception was at the Petroleum Club North where Maj. Joe Don Baker played the horn and sang. There was also a piano player.

Allison Elaine Klos and Matthew Charles Eagan were married on September 19 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.  Rev. Dr. Grayson L. Lucky officiated the ceremony.   A reception followed at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Linda and Tom Klos of Oklahoma City.  The groom is the son of Kay and Tim Eagan of Metairie, La.

The bride wore an ivory silk satin dress with a strapless bodice embellished with tiny seed pearl crystals and jewels and a satin sash and cathedral train. She carried a nosegay of white hydrangeas, stephanotis, Virginia roses and freesia.

Jennifer Klos, twin sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.  The bride’s other attendants were Emily Eagan, Rachael Rudeen, Elizabeth Polk, Adele Shartzer, Blair Coin, and Anne Hucker. Bridesmaids wore  navy silk charmeuse dresses. They carred nosegays of blue and white hydrangeas, freesia and stephanotis.

House party attendants included Ashley Black, Leslie Stewart, and Margo Ward.

Eric Eagan, twin brother of the groom, served as best man.  The groom’s other attendants included Patrick Eagan, Jeff Klos, Bailey Edwards, Cole Claiborne, John Marshall, and Martin Olivier.  Ushers included David Buckley, Hoyt Doak, Justin Ferira, Robert Polk, Guru Raj, and Kyle Sturgeon. The groomsmen and ushers wore navy silk bowties  patterned with magnolia blossoms, the state flower of the groom’s home state, Louisiana.

Theme of the reception was “southern living,” inspired by the couple’s connections to and fondness for southern cities, including Chapel Hill, NC, Memphis, New Orleans (the groom’s hometown), and Charlottesville, VA. Waiters carrying silver trays presented the couple’s signature cocktail, “sip of the south,” a blend of Firefly sweet-tea, vodka, lemonade, and mint.

The bride’s five-tiered Bavarian cream cake, decorated after her  bridal gown, was on a floral pedestal of white hydrangeas, Virginia roses, and stock and Casablanca lilies.  The groom’s cake was a chocolate mock-up of the  Rotunda at the University of Virginia, where the couple met as undergraduates.

An Eagan’s Oyster House,” was set up with oysters and made-to-order catfish po-boys with Zapps potato chips and shrimp n’ grits.  The “oyster house,” serving Abita beer, resembled a New Orleans courtyard with black wrought iron lanterns accented with candles, greenery, and Spanish moss.

Guests also enjoyed an Oklahoma-themed dinner buffet that included beef tenderloin, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried green beans, and a salad with Cattlemen’s Steakhouse dressing.

Dr. Larry “T-Byrd” Gordon Band of Dallas provided the  music for dinner and dancing.

The bride and groom gave as wedding favors Bedre chocolate cowboy boots and hats to honor the bride’s Oklahoma roots as well as the couple’s recent move to Dallas.  The favors were personalized with a cowboy saying: “Happy Trails to You!”

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a  rehearsal dinner at the Waterford Hotel.  Guests took home personalized M & M candies stamped with the bride and groom’s names.

The couple honeymooned in the Highlands of North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, and then went to Hilton Head Island.  They live in Dallas, Texas.

OKLAHOMA CITY WEDDING

The reception was held in Ann Felton Gilliland and Bob Gilliland’s yard on Dorchester Drive where fried chicken, brisket, fried okra, green beans,  potato salad, biscuits and apple butter was served.

At the outdoor reception, wedding cake was served and Banana Seat  Band played. Everyone danced until midnight.  Sunflowers and daisies were on all the tables.
