The Oklahoma Senior Follies is set for June 11th and 12th at Oklahoma City University’s Kirkpatrick Auditorium. Former Miss America and prime time news anchor Jane Jayroe will be the master of ceremonies.
Among the performers are Bobbie Lane Burbridge, Jody Miller, Jane Hall, Kerry Robertson, John Ferguson, Charlotte Franklin, Jo Rowan, Jim Henline, Linda Wright, Larry Darnell, Tom Brackett, Les Taylor, Al Sochor, Bob Davis, Bob Windsor, Carol and Gary Sander, William Calvin, Windi Patterson and Lynn Christian Hefley, all talented seniors of stage, screen, television and radio fame.
Among the groups performing will be Generations in Tap, the Lynda Tarpley Dancers and The Senior Sensations, which features 90-year-old tapper Betty Windsor.
“Much like the famed Ziegfeld Follies of the early 20th Century, the Oklahoma Senior Follies includes lavish costumes, elaborately choreographed dance routines and talents that range from music and dance to comedy, Follies Founder/Producer Bobbie Burbridge Lane, said. “No matter what the entertainment interest or age, the Oklahoma Senior Follies will include something for everyone.”
The show is directed by David Herendeen, OCU’s Director of Opera and Musical Theater.
In addition to energizing Oklahoma seniors, The Oklahoma Senior Follies will help raise funds and public awareness for Mobile Meals of Oklahoma County.
