The annual holiday reception for the  Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Oklahoma City branch, was at their office on Dean A. McGee Ave.  Members of partner organizations, bankers and business leaders ( 150 people) attended.

Thomas Hoenig, KC Federal Reserve Bank president, and other executives from the Kansas City office, were special guests.

 ’TIS THE SEASON

A holiday come and go party for Leadership Oklahoma members and guests was held in the home of Linda and Ron Matlock.  225 people attended.

The LOK program brings together 50 of the state’s outstanding leaders for 10 issue- oriented sessions that address state challenges. There are 1,100 graduates of the program. The leaders go through a rigorous application process and are selected from across the state. All must demonstrate a dedication to Oklahoma’s progress and the ability to exercise leadership in issues of statewide significance.

 CHARLES FAUDREE INTERIORS

Cindy Hazelwood invited friends for coffee in honor of her mother, M.J. Van Deventer’ s newest book with Charles Faudree, called “Charles Faudree Interiors.” M.J. signed copies of the book at a table covered with a cut lace runner.

Guests enjoyed her mother’s famous rum cake, along with holiday cookies, tarts and quiche.

Guests included Cherry Kay Clifford, Linda Haneborg, Jane Kenney, Barbara Simons, Linda Barnett, Janet McElvaney, Elizabeth Schatz, Jeanne Blair, Sody Clements, Claudia Robertson, Nancy Cheek, Julie Rivers, Mary Lou Avery, Debbi Dudley, Nina Gaugler, Laurel Anderson, Kathy Velte, Glenda Carlile and Anna McMillin.

THETAS’ HOLIDAY PARTY

Susie and Brad Kemp were hosts for the the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Christmas Party.  Co-hosts were Mary Kay and Bobby Samis.

The Theta tree in the entry hall was decorated with pansies and yellow roses.

There were 100 members and husbands at the event which included recent college graduates and fifty year Thetas.

Food was catered  by What’s Cooking and special napkins were donated by No Regrets. Trochta’s Flowers staff decorated the Kemp’s front doow.

HOLIDAY RIVER PARADE

There was a VIP event for sponsors and supporters of the fifth annual Devon Energy Holiday River Parade at the Hospitality Chalet in Regatta Park.

Members of the Oklahoma City Riverfront Re-development Authority were hosts. Guests were on the shoreline of the Oklahoma River so they could see the Grand Parade of Boats, a jet ski and water ski stunt show, the major fireworks show and the arrival of Santa Claus.

HOLIDAY GATHERING

Debby and Paul Dudman invited friends, neighbors and family members to their home on the night before Thanksgiving to celebrate the season.Beautiful snapdragons, hydrangeas, peonies and roses were in a crystal compote for the centerpiece. Lighted candles and all of the party foods flanked the flowers. Homemade desserts were served on the sideboard.

Debby cooked  homemade jars of cranberry sauce as party favors.

A  come and go baby shower was given for Kirsten Cash who with her husband, Dr. Ross Cash, is having a baby boy. They have three daughters.

It was in the home of Jenny Kalsu in the Oakdale Meadow Addition. Hostesses were Shelly Lambertz, Michelle Ponder, Lauri Gormley, Mary Beth Griffing, Kim Collins, Amy Feuerborn, Kimberly Ross, Melissa Santoro and Kristin Racz.
Red bandana invitations were sent out for the little “buckaroo.” Cowboy boot vases with flowers and colored paper,  cowboy hats and sherif badges and bandanas decorated the house.

Beaux Arts Ball Introduces Debutantes and Escorts—Parties Extra!—November 30, 2008

OU-OSU fans headed for the television set up in the Terrace Bar at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. They watched the football game until time for dinner the debutante presentation.(Photo by Helen Ford Wallace).

The Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club was filled with people Saturday for the 2008 Beaux Arts Ball presentation of the King, Debutantes and Escorts.

Community leader Morton Payne was selected as the 63rd Beaux Arts Ball King. The traditional Ball formally presents young women and men to society.

Red rose balls decorated the club. They were centerpieces and on the walls near the fireplace. The rose balls were set on urns and pedestals near the columns where the debs and escorts were introduced by announcer Bill Wallace.

Nosegays of red roses decorated the family tables and red rose sprays were anchored at the end of each table providing a rosy aisle for the court procession. Debutantes carried nosegays of red roses. Floral designer for the ball was Jim Vallion.

A 50- inch big screen television was set in the Terrace Bar and guests gathered there for the OU-OSU football game.  They sat quietly for dinner and the presentation with their cell phones turned on mute, but after the debs and escorts left the stage for dancing, the football fans made their way back to the tv for the final plays.

The debutantes, all wearing long white ballgowns and long white gloves, were Sarah Rainbolt, Claire Philbin, Ruby Coyle, Francie Love, Alex Stapleton, Leigh McCoy, Eleanor Isaacs, Karoline Knapp, Maguire Hall, Janell Fryer, Elizabeth Geren, Alix Benear, Lindsay Howard, Greer Colton, Rachel Flesher, Kylie Esco, Audrey Johnston, Margaret Salyer, Alice Frederickson and Kendall Claus.

They were escorted by their fathers.

Escorts, all dressed in formal attire, were  Stephen Sanger, Robert Samis, Patrick Nesbitt, Johnson King, Robert Blair, Richard Hill, Colin Bright, Philip Gresham, Jay Wallace, Daniel Price, Taylor Eisner, Thomas Holden, Kirk Miller, Alex Swisher, Robert Bradford, Miles Dunning and Jon Robinson.

This year’s committee members were:  Libby Denner, chairman, Connell Branan, co-chairman; Teri Benear, Mindy Cunningham, Kathryn Crabb, Shirley Everest, Tricia Everest, Elain Frogge, Karen Hanstein, Caroline Hendee, Anne Henderson, Ciane Hogan, Linda James, Laura Kirkpatrick, Tricia Law, Bebe MacKellar, Susan McPherson, Lisa Pierce, Dana Price, Leslie Russell, Karen Samis, Mary FitzSimons, Lauren Sullivan.

Pages/attendants for the King were Matthew Cowan Price and Blake Davison Brigham.

Former Kings attending the Ball and announced during the procession of kings were Bill Cleary, Dick Clements, Bill Swisher, Dan Hogan, Ed Cook, G.T. Blankenship, Ralph Thompson, John Mee, Ron Elkins, Jim Everest, Bob Johnson, Dick Sias, Lee Allan Smith, Gene Rainbolt, Ted Elam and John Bozalis.

The 2009 Ball chairman is Connell Branan.
