Members of the Oklahoma City Antique Club met in the home of Linda Rosser. Margaret Keith gave the program on the history of fans. She displayed her fan collection.

The speaker told the group that she read that fans are coming back. There was an outfit with a matching fabric fan in the Chanel 2011 fall clothing collection,

One of the fans that Keith told about had a mirror on it. She noted that it was not only to check your face, but also to see who was standing behind you. She noted that fans go back to the Chinese, Egyptians and Indian cultures and have been used not only to move air, but also to send signals to individuals….to open the fan in front of your face was a rejection and fast fanning was a sign of interest.

Among those at the event were Suzanne Cunningham, Toni Cook, Lida Elkins, SoRelle Fitzgerald, Linda Garrett, Becky Buchanan, Mary Ann Haskins, Joan Payne, Katie Blaik James, Martha Williams, Sandy Meyers and Shirley Blaik.
