The 28th annual  Nichols Hills Garden Tour is June 4th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Theme for the event is “A Tribute To English Gardens.”  Suzanne Reynolds and Amy Bankhead are co-chairmen.

Gardens on the tour are  Lisa and Tony Vaughn, 1600 Drury Lane; Tracey and Tim Hughes, 1210 Larchmont Lane; Courtney and Carl Holliday, 1905 Bedford Dr.; Candi and Donald Bullard, 1102 Huntington Ave. and Sue and Don Timberlake, 1600 Elmhurst Ave.

Proceeds benefit Nichols Hills Parks. Susan Marshall is president of NHP Inc.

Master gardeners, Kelly Moody and Nazette Zuhdi Cleaver,  will answer horticultural questions and will describe garden designs at the homes. Tickets are $15. in advance and $20. the day of the tour. MEET MARIANA

Mariana Elizabeth Hoffman, 3 months, was the center of attention at her grandmother, Susan Hoffman’s party.

Hoffman invited friends to come by and meet the baby. Mariana wore a pink dress edged at the sleeves and collar in lace.

A large bouquet of pink peonies was on the tea table (the party was in the afternoon from 2 until 4 p.m.) and tea sandwiches, tarts filled with chicken salad and cookies were served.

Mariana’s sister  was at the party.

There was a  holiday cocktail party get-together at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club Sable Room.

Hostesses were Terry Bradley, Linda Carpenter, Dianne Meacham and Connie Naifeh.

KICKBALL AT KITE PARK

 Kathy and Russ Walker and Helen and Bob Sullivan and their families had their annual Turkey Bowl party for neighbors and friends on Thanksgiving morning at Kite Park. Red and orange doughnuts were special treats in preparation for the OU-OSU football game that weekend.

At 9 a.m. it was a little cold, but coffee and hot chocolate and running on the playing field warmed up the crowd.

People of all ages played kickball. There was no score posted and there were no winners, but the everyone in the group had a chance to play and to make points.   The game lasted for a couple of hours.

Oklahoma Event

Donna Nigh was honored at a come and go party given by Nancy Ellis in her home.

Nigh was one of the inductees in the Nov. 12 Oklahoma Hall of Fame event.
Oklahoma flags were in the centerpiece and a large Oklahoma-shaped cake was served during the party.

DR. CLAY’S 90TH BIRTHDAY

The party: A 90th birthday party for Dr. Dick Clay given by Barbara and Bud Beeler and Marty and Cliff Conkle in the Beeler home.
The theme: Halloween with “vampire bites” and unearthly delights” as well as “hexing grog.” The “witching hour” was 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
Sweet treats: Chocolate eyeballs for party favors and lots of Halloween candy in every room. Flowers were everywhere too. Roses, tulips, orchids, artichokes and berries were arranged on the buffet table.
The birthday factor: The honoree received lots of cards and a memory book from his children and grandchildren.

Members of one of Oklahoma City’s Dance clubs, the Lotus Club, had their  Fall Dance at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club recently. They met early for cocktails, had a gourmet dinner then and danced.

New members of the group are Bette and Jim MacKellar.
Officers were announced and Tom King is the new  president. Other officers are Johnson
Hightower, vice president, and Millie Hightower,secretary/treasurer.
