Fashions featuring Legos were shown on the runway Friday night at the first ever Block Party at 700 1/2 Sheridan Ave. on Film Row. Women and men wearing the designs were very professional and Robert Painter did the master of ceremony/commentator honors for the evening. He pointed out the Lego jewelry, shoes, sunglasses and ties and the dresses trimmed with the popular block toy Legos.
Designers and special guests were Johnathan Kayne, Desmond Mason and Design, Housing and Merchandising, College of Human Environmental Sciences, Oklahoma State University; Ferris O’Brien, Hugh Meade, Nichole Moan, Senator Andrew Rice, Jim Roth and Spencer Stone and Stardeath and the White Dwarfs and War Paint Clothing Co.
Block party committee members was Sam Sims, Christine Berney, Jason Duncan, Kelli Dupuy, Lenice Keim, Kristi Leonard, JD Merryweather, Stephanie Scott and Ashley Waller.
Proceeds benefit Oklahoma City Educare. The show was in connection with the OKCityScape Lego exhibit which opens November 6th and closes December 31st. The exhibit will be at 1100 N Broadway.
