An engagement celebration honored Jessica Whitcomb and Brett Johnson. The wedding is set for January 2010 in Dallas.
Hosts were Karen Killam and Rohne Prather. They invited friends and family members to a party at Gaillardia Golf and Country Club.
“Southern Comfort” foods, drinks were served and decorations included rocking chairs scattered on the Club’s formal lawn.
Among those at the party were Emily and Rob Killam, Mary Killam, Sally and David Johnson, Eldon Sorsby, Mary Jo and Jamie Whitcomb, Greg Killam, Logan Prather, Landon Prather, Joanie and Bill Moore, Madison and Lucas Westendorf, Kathy and Steve Potts, Jonna Ireson, Ron Richardson, Heather, Haley and Nick Johnson.

LOTUS CLUB SPRING DANCE

Lotus Club members had a spring dance recently at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. 100 members attended. Tom King is president of the group.
Seating was determined by a “blind draw.” Members drew for table numbers and sat at the table with people who drew the same number. Centerpieces were white orchids and glossy red anthuriums.
On the arrangements committee chairmen were Susan Hoffman, Lisa Pierce and Lela Sullivan.

MASTER OF THE AQUATINT EXHIBIT

A collection of the late Doel Reed’s works in the exhibit “The Life and Legacy of Doel Reed: Master of the Aquatint” was shown at the opening reception at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum.
Ann and Burns Hargis and Melinda and Glen Johnson were hosts. It was for donors and friends of the Oklahoma State University Doel Reed Center in Taos, New Mexico.
A collection of Reed’s work, his students’ work, and an interactive display about his art process will be showcased at the OHM until June 30th.
Committee members for the reception were Bob Allee, Karlee Chill, Donna Hopper, Karen Kirkpatrick, Sallie McCorkle, Rita Moore, Shannon L. Nance, Romy Owens, Lela and Mark Sullivan and Jim Vallion. Other guests included Ken Ferguson, Barbara and Ben Harjo, Malinda and Dick Fischer, James Pickel, Meg Salyer, Warren Edwards, Anita and Jack Dahlgren, Nancy and John Cheek, Annie Bohanon, Ed Barth, Mary and Jerry Burson, Debra Engle, David Bennett, Linda and Jim Burke, Bruce Crauder and Jeanette and Kent Young.
Jim Vallion and Lela Sullivan were at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum for the exhibit opening of “The Life and Legacy of Doel Reed: Master of the Aquatint.” They were on the committee that planned the event.

Patty and Len Casteel were hosts for their annual Epiphany Party on Jan. 6th to celebrate the Three Wise Men.
There were 125 sets of the Three Wise Men, in all shapes and sizes, set in each room of the house. Libby and Morton Payne were hosts for an elegant dinner recently at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
The King’s Dinner was given by the Paynes as Morton Payne was selected as the 2008 King of the Beaux Arts Ball, the annual party honoring Beaux Arts Ball debutantes and escorts. They invited the debs, escorts, committee members, former kings and family members and friends. 230 people were there.
The Brent Van Sickle Party Orchestra played.
Libby Payne wore a beautiful black dress with ruffled sleeves and skirt.
Table centerpieces were glittering red roses, red and yellow orchids, artichokes, berries, pomegranates and apples. Tables had gold cloths and chairs were draped in gold fabric.
