Delta Gammas celebrate 137 years!

Delta Gammas were in Norman to celebrate the 137th year of Delta Gamma.
Members of the Norman Alumnae chapter were hostesses at the Oklahoma Memorial Union on the University of Oklahoma campus. Guests enjoyed a musical selection from the DG choir, a video and an awards presentation ranging from the “Most Congenial New Member” to the 50-year members.
Centerpieces were vintage silver vases and bowls from the Delta Gamma house which held pink and white tulips and roses and there were framed photos of past events. Each guest received a set of Delta Gamma postcards.
Kim Rieger and Kate Stanton were in charge of decorations.
Committee members included Julianne Hill, Karlie McLaughlin, Aleesha Ogden, Stanton, Rieger, Shannon Winters, Michelle Carbone, Amanda Holloway, Heather Puckett and Shawn Singer.

Also on the table were programs and roses.
Donita Phillips, Julianne Hill and Jane Ratliff were at the brunch.
Kate Stanton is “Arkansas Traveler.”

DELTA GAMMA

Kate Stanton was recognized by the Arkansas Governor’s Office as an “Arkansas Traveler.” Members of the Delta Gamma alumnae acknowledged her during part of the founder’s day celebration hosted by the collegiate chapter at the University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith.
She was honored because of her leadership in establishing Delta Gamma Sorority which was part of the initial Greek system in Ft. Smith.
A framed proclamation was given to her as she was being introduced as the keynote speaker for the Founder’s Day luncheon on the UA Fayetteville campus. There were 80 Delta Gammas there as well as a surprise guest, Florence Stanton, Bedford, Tx., Kate’ mother.

90 YEARS

The University of Oklahoma Delta Gamma sorority celebrated the 90th year of Delta Gamma Sorority during a weekend of events.
Linda Cohn, ESPN anchor and journalist, talked during the Delta Gamma Foundation Lectureship on Values and Ethics at the Oklahoma Memorial Union in Norman.
A reception honored her at Delta Gamma Sorority’s chapter house.
At Nonna’s Restaurant in Oklahoma City, members had a party and there was a silent auction.
Members bought chapter house prints by Greg Burns. Saturday, sorority alumni and collegiates met for a sing-a-long, dinner and house tour prior to the University of Oklahoma- Texas Tech University football game.
Leah Barksdale, LeAnn Harmon, Jodee Mashek and Christine Cleveland were at the party.
