Capt. Sims talks to Casady Club members

U.S. Marine Corps Capt. S. Chandler Sims II, winner of the Casady School Young Alumni Achievement Award the previous day, spoke at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club Hunt Room to members of the Casady Club. Chris Bright introduced him.

Sims talked about his role as squadron pilot supporting the President of the United States on Marine Helicopter One. Chandler played football for Navy in college.

People at the event included Kathy and Hal Brown, Casey Williams, Mary Sims, Courtney Briggs-Melton, Taylor Currie, David Elder, Russ Woody, Johnny Jones, Larry Warden, David Gorham, Kathleen Roberts Stevenson, Roberta and Greg Roush, Amy Bankhead.

Susan Drake, Mary Sims, Kathy Brown, Casey Williams were at the luncheon.


Chapel re-dedication held at Casady School in Oklahoma City

Following the re-dedication ceremony of the Chapel of St. Edward the Confessor at Casady School was a reception on the lawn of Woolsey House.

The renovation and expansion includes a bell tower with  23 cast bronze bells crafted in Holland.

At the event were Rt. Rev. Dr. Edward J. Konieczny, Canon Jose McLoughlin, Casady Vicar Charles Blizzard, Assistant Vicar Sonny Varela and Casady School emeritus Rev. John H. Marlin. Konieczny conducted the services and the others assisted him.

Cram and Ferguson, Concord, Mass., designed the original building as well as the expansion.

Eric Fisher, Max Weitzenhoffer, Guy Patton, Taylor Currie were at the event.

Cody, Dannie Bea, Johnson, Lindsay, and Millie Hightower attended the event.


Oklahoma City Casady School’s Leadership Circle members host wine tasting and art show

Members of Casady School’s Leadership Circle were hosts for a wine tasting and art show in the home of Sue Ann and Harold Hamm. 200 guests were at the party.

Guests, donors to the annual fund and major supporters of the School, enjoyed a tasting of five Joullian wines hosted by Winemaker and General Manager of Joullian Vineyards, Ridge Watson.

Shelly Lewis Stanfield brought her paintings for exhibit and sale. Partial proceeds from the sale of 19 of her paintings went to the School.

Ramsey Drake, Shirley and Pete Everest came to the wine tasting and art show.

Kathy Brown, Nancy Ellis, Pam Shdeed, Hal Brown enjoyed the event.


Casady School’s “Light The Night” event is November 20th

Casady School sets Book Fair events

Betty Jane Garrett, Jana Bright and Susan Eckman talk about the 2010 Casady School Book Fair which is Feb. 19th.  The preview party is Feb. 18th.


Molly Wizenberg was in town for a book signing party and student workshop

Casady School graduate Molly Wizenberg, author, columnist, photographer and blogger, was honored at a  Reception and Book Signing party in Calvert Hall on the Casady School campus. This event was part of activities related to the upcoming Book Fair. She also conducted writer’s workshops for the Casady students.

The public was invited to the party which featured Wizenberg’s best selling book, “A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from my Kitchen Table.”  She also signed her book.

The Book Fair Preview night is Feb. 18 at the Grantham-Griffing Field House, South Gym. The Book Fair is Feb. 19th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Jana Bright and Susan Eckman are co-chairmen for the Book Fair.

There was a reception for Casady School 25 alumni in the home of Alyson and Ben Woodard in Dallas.

Head of School Chris Bright, Associate Head of School David Gorham, Director of Institutional Advancement Aaron James and Director of Alumni Relations Betty Jane Garrett were special guests.

Guests received party favors with the Casady logo including  a large Casady cup, mouse pad and Casady Alumni car decal.  Food was from Zoe’s Kitchen in Snider Plaza in Dallas and centerpieces were from New Leaf Floral in OKC.

Homecoming Activities set for Oklahoma City’s Casady School

HOMECOMING WEEK

Dr. John R. Bozalis will receive the Casady School Distinguished Graduate award at a Alumni Awards  dinner on October 8 at 6:00 p.m. in Calvert Hall on the Casady Campus.

Terry Stuart Forst and Dr. Marcia Meiring will be honored that night for Alumni Achievement and Mary Payne Moran will receive the  Young Alumni Achievement award.

Classes graduating 50 years ago or more from Casady will also be recognized at the Alumni Awards Dinner and 50-Year Banquet with a special Golden Cyclone gift.  The classes of 1959 and 1954 have scheduled reunion activities during homecoming week.

Homecoming activities  kick off with the ” Breaking New Ground at Casady”  ceremony celebrating the expansion of the chapel and first steps toward construction of the new math facility on October 7 at 8:30 a.m.
