Choo Choo: When Nolan Sanger celebrated his 3rd birthday recently, his parents, Angie and Ford Sanger, used a train theme. He loved it, since he is totally into trains of all kinds.

All aboard: Friends and family members were invited to the Spaghetti Warehouse where a party train was already in place. Cookies and a fondant cake were shaped like trains; cups and plates featured the train; people brought train books, and train items, and party favors were train whistles. Grandparents Ann and Don Jacobson brought a train outfit for Nolan, compete with a conductor’s cap.

The invitation: The invitation stated the departure date, arriving time, boarding time, and noted that guests had “first class seats.” Drawing on the invitation was, what else, but a darling train.

 Kirsten Cash surprised her husband Dr. Ross Cash with a 40th birthday dinner in their home. 80 friends and relatives surprised him as he walked in the front door with his cousin, Rick Howard, after they attended a football game.

Posted on the walls were pictures of the honoree through the years and “Fads and Firsts from the 1970’s,” a list of which included skateboards, food processors, walkman, video arcade games.

Barbecued beef was served to the guests along with beer and wine. Cookies with M&M’s were served and party favors included Ross Cash’s favorite Sweet Tarts. A compact disc of music from 1972 was also given to guests.

A dual birthday party honored Steve Kerr and Wilson Kerr, father and son. It was at the Photo Arts Studio in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District.

A variety of food from the Good Egg Group and Uptown Market was served to the 60 people, including friends and family members from the east and west coast. There was also a group of men from Delta Upsilon Fraternity at the University of Oklahoma.

 Lucy Beeler celebrated her 90^th birthday all day recently.

Her children, Barbara and Bud Beeler, Diana and Jeff Beeler and Kay Blake entertained family members at dinner in the Wine Room of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and a birthday party was held in her honor at Canterbury Living Center.

Several bouquets of roses and daisies decorated the Wine Room and the honoree wore a yellow rose corsage.

Kingsley  Burke celebrated her 30^th birthday with a cocktail party in her home. Husband Jeff Burke prepared “Cupcake Martinis” dusted with rainbow sprinkles and the guests had their palms read by “Lady Linda. “

They had dinner at S&B’s Burger Joint and Pinkitzel Cupcakes and Candy Store and then went clubbing at The Boom and Groovy’s.

They were given party favors of colorful wigs and eyelashes which they wore during the evening.

They traveled around the town in a 1972 red Cadillac convertible which was decorated with twinkling lights. Kingsley’s brother, Jens Holmboe, was the chauffeur.

Barbara Watson and Judy Jordan celebrated their  birthdays at a cocktail party with 250 of their closest friends and family members.

The event was at the Howell Gallery and Linda and Ken Howell were co-hosts. The invitation noted the honorees were “Even More Stunning at 80” and that guests were invited “to celebrate the 40^th Anniversary of the 40^th Birthdays.”

 Interspersed with the original paintings hanging at the Gallery were photographs of the honorees taken during their lifetimes. Bouquets of flowers were everywhere including a picture with “80” created out of flowers.
